Turks and Caicos Islands Scene Turks and Caicos is an excellent destination for divers and snorklers. Smith’s Reef in Provo is one of the area’s most popular dive spots, thanks to a diverse collection of sea creatures in a spectrum of electric colors. For a completely different vibe, explore the black coral and submerged overhangs of Black Forest or kayak the bright turquoise waters of Chalk Sound. Both the Caicos Conch Farm and the bird sanctuary on uninhabited French Cay offer unique ways to commune with local wildlife.

Climate: The Turks and Caicos Islands, located between the Dominican Republic and the Tropic of Cancer, have a tropical climate, hot all year round, with a hotter and muggy season from May to October and a relatively cool season from December to March. The temperatures are high throughout the year: the daily average is around 23°C in winter and 28°C in summer. From December to March, a cool wind from the United States can sometimes lower the temperature by a few degrees, so that the night minimum can drop below 20°C. Summer is sultry, but the heat is tempered by the breeze. If it were not for the risk of hurricanes, Turks and Caicos could be visited at any time of the year. The period from May to October is the hottest and most humid, while the period from September to December is quite rainy, even though the rains occur mostly in the form of downpours or thunderstorms in the afternoon or evening, and do not last long. From December to March, some days can be a bit cool and breezy, but usually not to the point of disturbing those who are on the beach. So the best time is from January to April, and April is probably the best month overall.
