British Airways American Express® Premium Plus Card
The British Airways American Express Premium Plus card is an airline rewards card aimed at frequent BA flyers. As well as earning 1.5 Avios per pound spent on it
(and 3 Avios per £1 spent on BA flight and Holidays purchases) it also offers a BA companion voucher once £10,000 has been spent on it. I tend to use my
Companion Voucher each year to celebrate my February Birthday somewhere hot. 150,000 Avios gets me a business class ticket to Asia, (Normally Singapore or Hong Kong). The companion voucher
gets me another seat for Monique. All we pay are the airport taxes. That equates to what would normally be around a £7,500 worth of flights for less than £1,000. That makes the £195
annual fee for the card great value. Of course, you can choose shorter distances or lower classes of travel but I wouldn't advise using it for Economy tickets because
after you've paid the airport tax you won't have saved that much so it's not particularly good value when used like that. And if you find your short on ASvios you can always top them up.
BA often have offers on for buying more Avios and if you think you may need them it's always worth buying some. It's still much cheaper than buying Business Class tickets.
